Icarus feel este o lucrare complexă, de dimensiuni considerabile, lucrată cu mare finețe. Materialele folosite sunt marmura și alama veritabilă. Atenția cade asupra aripilor impunătoare iar eleganța lucrării se remarcă prin lustru.

Icar este fiul lui Dedal, prezentat în mitologia greacă drept arhitect și sculptor, cel care a contribuit la ridicarea celebrului labirint din Knossos. În acest labirint, regele Cretei, Minos, îl închisese pe Minotaur, fiul uniunii dintre nevasta regelui, Pasiphae și taurul alb dăruit de Poseidon regelui.

Pentru a-i potoli pofta de carne umană, Minos îi trimitea lui Minotaur flăcăi și fecioare. După o vreme, Dedal, sătul de sacrificiile făcute pentru Minotaur, complotează cu Tezeu pentru uciderea monstrului. Drept pedeapsă, Minos îi închide pe arhitect și pe fiul acestuia, Icar, în labirint și zidește ieșirea. Însa ingeniosul Dedal reușește să confecționeze două perechi de aripi de ceară și din pene, pentru el și fiul său, care ar fi trebuit să îi salveze. Icar, fascinat de frumusețea zborului și a înălțimilor, se apropie prea mult de Soare. Zeul Helios, mânios pe faptul că oamenii au descoperit secretul zborului, topește cu căldura sa aripile lui Icar, care se prabușește în apele marii Egee. Icar se lovește de niște stânci și moare. De atunci acea parte a mării și insula îi poarta numele, Icaria, la sud vest de Samos.

Morala legendei:  ”pe langă faptul că i-a zis lui Icar să nu zboare prea sus, Dedal și-a instruit fiul să nu zboare nici prea jos, prea aproape de mare, pentru că apa i-ar distruge aripile. Societatea a modificat mitul, încurajându-ne să uităm o bună parte din el, și a creat o cultură în care ne amintim constant unii altora de pericolele care ne așteaptă dacă ne ridicăm și ieșim din anonimat, dacă devenim vizibili.” *

Legenda, foarte draga artistului, l-a inspirat in crearea operei Icarus Feel. Acesta se identifica atat spiritual cu Icar, prin dorinta de evolutie artistica, dar si moral, dat fiind faptul ca mentorul sau in viata si in profesie a fost si este insusi tatal sau, sculptorul Constantin Marinete.

Icarus feel is a complex work of considerable size, crafted with great finesse. The materials used are marble and genuine brass. The attention falls on the imposing wings and the elegance of the work stands out through the polish. 

Icarus is the son of Daedalus, presented in Greek mythology as an architect and sculptor, who contributed to the construction of the famous labyrinth of Knossos. In this labyrinth, the king of Crete, Minos, had imprisoned the Minotaur, the son of the union of the king's wife, Pasiphae, and the white bull given to the king by Poseidon.

To appease his lust for human flesh, Minos sent the Minotaur lads and maidens. After a while, Daedalus, tired of the sacrifices made for the Minotaur, conspires with Theseus to kill the monster. As punishment, Minos locks the architect and his son, Icarus, in the labyrinth and builds the exit. But the ingenious Daedalus manages to make two pairs of wax and feather wings for himself and his son, who should have saved them. Icarus, fascinated by the beauty of flight and heights, gets too close to the Sun. The god Helios, angry that humans have discovered the secret of flight, melts with his heat the wings of Icarus, who crashes into the waters of the Aegean Sea. Icarus hits some rocks and dies. Since then that part of the sea and the island bear its name, Icaria, southwest of Samos.

The moral of the legend: "besides telling Icarus not to fly too high, Daedalus instructed his son not to fly too low, too close to the sea, because the water would destroy his wings. Society has altered the myth, encouraging us to forget much of it, and created a culture in which we constantly remind each other of the dangers that await us if we rise up and emerge from anonymity, if we become visible." * 

The legend, very dear to the artist, inspired him to create the work of art called Icarus Feel. He identifies both spiritually with Icarus, through his desire for artistic evolution, but also morally, given the fact that his mentor in life and in his profession was, and still is, his own father, the sculptor Constantin Marinete.
