BIOGRAPHY

Alexandru Constantin Marinete was born in the same day as Alexander the Great, 20th of July , but by year 1980. Just like his namesake, he begun his development for early childhood, under the supervision of his father. By the age of 8, Alexandru the Artist already learned the secrets and the beauty of sculpting. By the time he finished his studies, ”Nicolae Tonitza”Highschool of Arts and hereafter Bucharest University of Arts - major in Sculpture, the artist imposed his style through different artistic events, such as:

• 1998 - Măgura National Sculpture Camp

• 1998 - ”Nicolae Navasart” Snagov Sculpture Camp

• 2002 - Hunedoara County/Straja Sculpture Camp

• 2003 - The National Symposium  ”Commemoration of 100 years since the birth of the artist Gheorghe Anghel” - County of Mehedinți  

• 2003 - Teleorman County Sculpture Camp.

• 2004 - Teleorman County Sculpture Camp

• 2004 - National Theatre of Bucharest - Municipal Exhibition

• 2005 - National Theatre of Bucharest - Small Sculpture Exhibition

• 2010 - Călărași County/Ostrov - International Art Camp ”Durostorum - Danube terraces”

After years of study and preparations the artist felt the need of sharing his knowledges with younger generations. Hence, he decided to split his time between being an artist and being a teacher. For a period of time he dedicated his talent in the need of others. 

Personal and professional development of the artist was perfected year by year, mainly through his creations, tentatives and works of art, but also through different opportunities risen in his carrer:

• 2015 - Trainee fellow of The Union of Visual Artists from Romania

• 2020 - Full Member of The Union of Visual Artists from Romania

• 2022 - Censor position - The Union of Visual Artists from Romania

• 2025 - Full Member of Board of Directors of Sculpture branch Romania

• 2025 - Member Fellow of National Comission of Public Monuments of Ministry of Culture

• 2026 - Exhibition curator ”Brancusi month”- Ministry of Culture Romania

Because the passion for pure art was burning inside him, Alexandru Marinete returned to his first and only love, sculpture.  Therefore, the artist turned himself to even grater artistic events, such as:
